STREETS OF DAKAR

In 2022 I moved to Dakar, Senegal, and as a photographer I rarely go out without my camera. So, I started recording what was catching my eyes of its urban space, of the people who populate it and of the everyday life of this unique city. I immediately realised the profound transformation the city is going through. Work yards are everywhere, and the destruction of certain areas of the coastline due to uncontrolled constructions is one of the main issues that people are debating, even though, as is often the case, it is the logic of profit that wins out over everything else. My visual interpretation of Dakar is not intended to be a description of Senegal's capital. Nevertheless, it is possible to find some elements that represent the urban environment of the city and its people.
